The IT Services TechBar, located on the first floor of the Joseph Regenstein Library, provides technology support for University of Chicago instructors, students, and staff.

10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Hours change based on holidays, academic quarters, and special events. You also may view the hours of operation for all libraries for a week-by-week listing of library hours.

In-Person Technology Support

Located on the first floor of the Joseph Regenstein Library, support is only minutes away from the academic heart of campus. Having problems viewing documents in Canvas, connecting to the campus wireless network, or configuring a mobile device? We can help with almost any University technology resource — or get you to the right people. We’re equipped with a variety of resources to help you as quickly as possible. Equipment Lending

We offer free equipment lending for students, instructors, and staff. We stock PC and Macintosh laptops, iPads, and multimedia equipment, including digital cameras. We also have an assortment of cables, as well as video and power adapters. Most equipment is available for eight hours, while power adapters are available for two hours.

Conferencing

The TechBar has space available to reserve for a convenient location to host a conference, class, or academic gathering. Facilities include a conference space that can accommodate up to 20 people and a private video conferencing suite that can host up to six people. To reserve a space, stop by the TechBar or email techbar@uchicago.edu for a reservation. At least one week’s notice is recommended to reserve the space. There is no cost for space reservations or video conferencing.
