Given its distributed model, the provisioning of IT services across the University relies on a strong governance model to assure optimal deployment of resources. This model relies on three tiers: Executive, Strategic and Operational.
These tiers and the advisory groups within represent a strong feedback loop that allows subject matter experts and super-users to help shape recommendations for technology direction. These focused efforts ensure that outcomes are being accomplished as needed at a tactical level. Unless already established, it is the role of the CIO to assure flow of information and staff support across the committees and advisory groups.
